Costa Rica

Welcome to Costa Rica! Our little stretch of land located in Central America is known for its beaches, mountains, jungles and its people, the “Ticos”, as we are colloquially called. In our country you will discover plenty of different climates. From the cloud forests of Monteverde and the dry tropical beaches of the Pacific all the way to the mountainous midlands and the tropical jungles of the Caribbean. Just like our climate, the people welcome you with warmth and are happy to present our nature and culture to tourists from around the globe.

Costa Rica enjoys two distinct seasons throughout the year: Rainy and Dry. During the rainy season, you can expect more days with rain showers than not. Usually, rainclouds accumulate during the morning and release through the afternoon into the evening, giving a fresh feel to the day after the sunny and hot morning hours. Rarely does it rain constantly for multiple days, though it is a real possibility. So don´t forget a poncho!
During the dry season, rain is extremely unlikely and you can expect clear, sunny days. This is considered the high season for tourism and is the favourite time of the year for most people to visit the country.
Please be aware that despite being a small country, due to the mountain ranges and being surrounded by the ocean on two sides, the climate also varies a lot between different regions. Our experts will have more details, so do not hesitate to ask.

Nature & Wildlife

With over 25% of the country protected as national parks or reserves, Costa Rica is a haven for eco-tourism. People come to spot sloths, monkeys, toucans, sea turtles and to explore lush rainforests, volcanoes and biodiverse cloud forests.

Adventure & Sports

Costa Rica is a playground for thrill-seekers! From zip-lining through cloud forests, white-water rafting, surfing, and volcano hikes, to ATV tours and canyoning, the country is packed with adrenaline-pumping experiences. It is also a popular golfing, fishing and hiking destination.

Life´s a beach

Whether it's the Pacific coast (like Tamarindo, Santa Teresa, or Manuel Antonio) or the Caribbean coast (like Puerto Viejo or Cahuita), Costa Rica offers stunning beaches ideal for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and chilling in a hammock with a cocktail.
